HangMan is a word-guessing game. This page explains, in plain terms, what information the app collects, why, and how you can remove it — because a privacy policy you can't actually read isn't much of one.
Creating an account requires an email address, a username, and a password. During play, the app records your score, win/loss record, streak, and premium status so leaderboards, ranks, and the daily-word streak actually work.
If you use the in-app Contact Us form, it opens your own device's Mail app with your message pre-filled — we only receive it if you choose to send that email yourself.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for anything beyond running the game and responding to you.
Free accounts see ads served by Google AdMob. On iOS, the app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission the first time you open it. If you decline, you'll still see ads — they just won't be personalized using your device's advertising identifier.
Premium subscribers see no ads at all, anywhere in the app.
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account (after confirming your password) — this immediately and permanently removes your account row and locally stored data from our systems. This can't be undone.
Passwords are stored using bcrypt, a one-way hash — we cannot read or recover your actual password, only verify it at login. All requests to our backend are made over HTTPS.
HangMan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us (§10) and we'll remove it.
You can request a copy of the data tied to your account, or ask us to delete it, by emailing us directly — or by using Delete Account in-app for immediate self-service deletion.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
